YOU’RE INVITED! CELEBRATE BAILEY’S BIRTHDAY BY HELPING YOUR LOCAL SHELTER!
Bailey had surgery for cancer in December of 2005, and was given only 6 months to live. But Bailey fooled us all! She will be 13 years old on March 11!
To celebrate, Bailey invites you to make a contribution to your favorite local animal shelter or pet rescue group. Donate food, volunteer some time, or simply write a check. Take this opportunity to teach your children about the importance of caring for our furry buddies. You’ll get a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that your gift of time, money, or food will allow your favorite shelter or rescue to care for orphaned pets.
Then come to My Fire Hydrant starting on March 11, and post a comment telling Bailey what you did (or what you plan to do) for your local shelter/rescue to celebrate Bailey’s Big 13! You can also post photos and videos to Flickr, with the tag baileysbd, showing you and/or your pet in birthday hats and a party attitude. We will feature these photos on My Fire Hydrant throughout the month of March.

Happy Birthday, Bailey! We know your mommy Bev is so thankful to celebrate yet another birthday with you! Your mommy asked about what our mommy does - she volunteers with Small Paws, on transports (mostly for our fellow fluffs coming from Texas to Oklahoma)and as a Blanketeer. She left us once and went to Kansas for a week, looking for a little lost SPR foster. We weren't crazy about that, but she said she needed to go. She also rescues other dogs that mean people abandon (we live in the country, so she finds a few). Oh, and she coordinates a weekly adoption feature for two of our metro area newspapers, featuring animals from local shelters and rescues. Mommy always wants to do more, but her first priority (we insist) is that she spend time with us and Daddy. She's a good mommy overall, and she sure loves all the little ones.

We look forward to "attending" your birthday celebration! Our mom works with Small Paws Rescue through SPR Ebay. She lists items on Ebay and then ships to the people who buy them. You don't know me but I live in CT, have two bichons, one named Bailey and the other Charlie (Charlie2 from spr). They truly are the loves of my life. Never having a dog in my 40+ years of life, we got Bailey through a breeder. Then came a foster plea from Robin about fostering Charlie2. I had every excuse in the book NOT to but it happened so fast, I said ok but try to find him a home QUICK. Well 2 years later, yup you guessed it, I flunked fostering 101. He is the sweetest angle EVER, well aside from my little Bailey of course!!
So my birthday is March 14th and I would LOVE to come to your online birthday party with Bailey and Charlie. Miracles do happen don't they? Have a wonderful wonderful birthday and have your mom give you a bone from your friends in CT.

Hi Bailey! My name is Tucker Max Small Paws. I was adopted from SPR on March 15, 2008. Soon I will celebrate my 1 year annifursary in my furever home. We donate every month to SPR and we are so happy to celebrate your big birthday and triumph over the big C!
